We are BFG
BFG International is a global leader in the design and manufacture of advanced FRP composites, with over 2,000 people and 15 production facilities worldwide – and a total commitment to quality and innovation.
Since 1975 we have worked in partnership with the world’s leading architects, consultants, contractors, rail rolling stock builders and renewable energy specialists – across both the public and private sectors – to create bespoke composites for a new generation of industrial components, iconic buildings and advanced transport networks: from the TGV in France to the World Trade Centre in Saudi Arabia.
Today, we excel in six sectors, each with unique performance criteria
- Architecture and Infrastructure
- Transportation
- Industrial
- Wind and Renewable Energy
- Environmental Systems
- Leisure and Recreation
BFG has an unrivalled global footprint, with operations across five continents and clients across six. We operate fabrication facilities in Bahrain, Brazil, China, India, and the Philippines, covering more than 100,000m2 of manufacturing capacity and enabling us to offer regionalised production and localised delivery and installation of world class composites.
Because composites present boundless possibilities, BFG invests heavily in research and development to pioneer new design methodologies, high performance materials, manufacturing processes and product systems. Our research centre in Europe is dedicated to breakthrough discoveries in composites, from wind energy to wastewater treatment.
At BFG, we deliver the full life cycle of services: conceptualisation and structural design, material and product development, testing, sampling, prototyping and serial product manufacture, all the way to delivery and installation.
The strong BFG engineering team with more than 100 engineers deploys leading edge CNC tooling and design technology, including CATIA, SOLID WORKS and AUTOCAD. Our world class structural design and analysis facility uses ANSYS, NISA, ALTAIR, HYPERMESH and other advanced software.
We are committed to minimising our environmental impact. BFG’s R&D centre in Strasbourg works in partnership with universities, laboratories and designers to develop new technologies and features to improve the sustainability of our products and processes.
BFG was awarded ISO 9001: 2000 in March 2001 and upgraded to ISO 9001: 2008 in February 2009. In September 2011, we achieved IRIS certification in the rail industry.
BFG specialises in composite manufacturing processes including:
- Open contact moulding
- Resin transfer moulding (RTM)
- Vacuum infusion
- Press moulding
- Painting
- Tool making
- Systems integration and assembly
